Airtel Africa has signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal with Xtelify, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, to roll out an AI-powered platform across 14 African countries. The initiative aims to simplify telecom operations and elevate customer experiences.
Under the agreement, Airtel Africa will adopt the Xtelify Data Engine and Work platforms, which will equip 150,000 field agents with real-time market intelligence to enhance customer engagement and strategic targeting. The platform also supports critical features such as spam detection and fraud prevention, thereby strengthening consumer protection.
The newly launched Xtelify platform is designed as an end-to-end solution that reduces operational complexity, curbs churn, and increases average revenue per user (ARPU). The rollout in Africa is modeled after the platform’s proven success in India.
Airtel Africa plans to deploy Xtelify IQ to enable secure, real-time, omnichannel communication, delivering hyper-personalized services to its user base.
“This partnership marks a transformative leap in our mission to build Africa’s digital future,” said Jacques Barkhuizen, Group Chief Information Officer at Airtel Africa. “By harnessing Airtel’s AI platforms that have proven scale in India, we are simplifying operations and accelerating personalized experiences across our 14 African markets.”
Bharti Airtel also highlighted the internal synergy driving the partnership. “Combining our Xtelify platform with Airtel Africa’s vision will allow us to address industry-wide challenges like spam and fraud while ensuring customer protection and digital transformation,” said Binod Srivastava, Chief Business Officer, Global Business, Bharti Airtel.
