Anambra State Approves N97 Million for Solution Data Platform
Anambra State Government has approved a budget of N97,087,625 for the development of a state-owned Solution Data Platform, a significant technological project aimed at enhancing governance and security within the state.
This decision was one of the highlights from the 34th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting, as announced by Dr. Law Mefor, the State’s Commissioner for Information, on the official state website.
The contract for the platform was awarded to Octave Analytics and Insights Ltd, though a completion timeline has yet to be disclosed. According to Dr. Mefor, “Anambra State Solution Data Platform: Octave Analytics and Insights Ltd will develop this platform for ₦97,087,625.”
The Solution Data Platform is envisioned as a critical tool to streamline data management processes across various sectors in Anambra, enabling real-time data integration and accessibility for decision-makers. This platform is expected to enhance the government’s ability to address key areas, including security, infrastructure, and public service delivery. This project forms part of Anambra’s broader strategy to leverage technology for socio-economic development and security enhancement. Alongside the data platform, the Anambra State Executive Council has approved additional projects, such as upgrading security measures, developing a master plan for heritage sites, and improving infrastructure at educational and healthcare facilities.
In a related move, the Anambra State Police Command, collaborating with other security agencies, recently dismantled a notorious criminal hideout in Lilu, Mbosi, within Ihiala Local Government Area. This operation came just days after police discovered five unexploded improvised explosive devices (IEDs) near Umunze Police Station in Orumba South LGA, raising security alerts in the area.
State Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga revealed that the raid, conducted based on gathered intelligence, led to the seizure of three additional IEDs, two abandoned vehicles, and materials associated with explosive activities, underscoring the severity of organized crime threats.
The recent technological and security investments reflect Anambra’s vision of fostering a secure and economically vibrant environment. With projects like the Solution Data Platform, the state hopes to build a more responsive governance system, ultimately creating a more connected, informed, and prosperous Anambra.
