Apple has reportedly scrapped plans to release the next version of its iPhone Air in the fall of 2026, according to a report from The Information.
The iPhone Air, first introduced in 2025 as a thinner and lighter variant of the iPhone lineup, has seen weaker-than-expected demand since launch. The model’s compact design offered reduced weight but smaller battery capacity and fewer camera features.
Apple has not commented on the report, and Reuters said it could not independently verify the information.
The company had recently received regulatory approval to offer the iPhone Air in China with eSIM-only connectivity, omitting the physical SIM tray. Analysts say slower-than-expected sales likely influenced the decision to delay or discontinue future releases.
