In a significant boost for youth empowerment and digital inclusion, the U.S. Consulate, in partnership with the Ogun State Government and GFA Technologies, has launched a new ‘Window on America’ at the Ogun Tech Hub in Abeokuta.

The initiative provides young Nigerians with free access to digital literacy programs, global learning resources, and modern facilities designed to foster tech skills and entrepreneurial growth.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Governor Dapo Abiodun described the project as a transformative public-private partnership aimed at connecting Nigerian youth with global innovation networks. He noted that Ogun State’s investments in fiber optic connectivity, innovation hubs, and ICT education are part of a long-term strategy to drive inclusive economic growth.

Acting U.S. Consular General JoEllen Gorg emphasized that the center reflects the Consulate’s commitment to empowering Nigerian youth. The American Window is the second in Ogun State and part of a larger network of 29 American Spaces across Nigeria, offering programs such as digital literacy workshops, English conversation clubs, global affairs discussions, and access to thousands of academic books and online resources.

Debo Omololu, CEO of GFA Technologies, revealed that the company has invested over ₦400 million in the state and employed more than 1,000 software engineers. He urged young people to make full use of the center’s opportunities to build skills and compete globally.

The Window on America is expected to strengthen local innovation, bridge the digital divide, and position Ogun as a hub for tech talent and global collaboration.
