Elon Musk’s ‘X’ Platform to Collect Biometric, Employment Data from Users
Elon Musk’s digital platform, ‘X,’ formerly known as Twitter, is gearing up for significant changes in its privacy policy. In a recent update to the company’s privacy guidelines, X has announced its intention to collect biometric data, including user’s facial photographs.
Starting from September 29, users subscribed to the X Premium service will have the option to voluntarily submit a selfie and photo ID for verification purposes.
X assures that these changes have not been implemented yet.Furthermore, the updated policy reveals X’s plan to gather data related to users’ employment and educational backgrounds.
This data will be used to recommend potential job opportunities and may also be shared with prospective employers when users apply for jobs.

Users will have the option to provide their government ID and a selfie for verification, with biometric data extracted from both sources for matching purposes.
This added security measure is aimed at thwarting impersonation attempts.Elon Musk has previously hinted at plans to introduce video and audio calling features compatible with iOS, Android, Mac, and PC, eliminating the need for a phone number.
However, no specific release date has been provided for this feature.The billionaire entrepreneur has also expressed ambitions to compete with LinkedIn in the job market, envisioning X as an all-encompassing platform for various services in the future.
