The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has named 16 technology companies as certified service providers to help taxpayers onboard its e-invoicing platform ahead of the November 1, 2025, deadline.

The companies, approved by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), were announced bythe  FIRS Acting Director of Tax Automation, Mike Adoga, during a two-day workshop on the e-invoicing solution in Lagos. He said the service providers were selected based on their nationwide coverage, security standards, neutrality, and ability to serve multiple sectors.

Adoga emphasised that taxpayers are free to choose any of the providers and switch if service delivery falls short, noting that FIRS would not endorse or recommend any particular company. “If any of them is not compliant for whatsoever reason, you have the choice to change and then let us know as FIRS. If you sense any breach or problems in dealing with anyone, please reach out to the FIRS team,” he told participants.

The FIRS official warned that any company found to have compromised standards would be delisted. He added that the list of certified providers would be updated as more firms meet the set requirements.

Chief of Staff to the FIRS Executive Chairman, Mr. Tayo Koleosho, represented by Director of Change Management, Emmanuel Eze, revealed that over 1,000 companies have been onboarded since the e-invoicing platform went live on August 1, representing only 20% of the target 5,000 companies. He noted that MTN, IHS, and Huawei were the first to go live on the system.

Koleosho explained that the FIRS recently extended the onboarding deadline by three months to November 1 to allow more companies to comply, but urged taxpayers not to delay the process. He said the workshop was organised to provide practical guidance on integration, real-time invoice transmission, and to introduce the certified providers who will be crucial in supporting adoption.
