Foundation Honours Kaduna ICT Hub Boss for Promoting Digital Literacy
TECH DIGEST – The Yasmin El-Rufai (YELF) Foundation has presented a ‘merit award’ to the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kaduna ICT Hub (KADICT Hub), Engr. Yusuf Bashir.
PRNigeria gathered, Bashir was honoured by YELF for generously supporting the YELF Women Literacy Program, over the years.
He has trained over 10,000 residents of Kaduna in three years, among which are beneficiaries of the YELF Women Literacy Program; built the first fully-automated vehicle registration platform in Nigeria; and also, secured funding for a project that will provide free training of one million Kaduna residents and generate 200,000 jobs over the next four years.
The Foundation, on Saturday, presented an award plaque to the KADICT Hub helmsman, while launching the ‘Bloom’, its anthology of short stories and poetry, at Creativity Court, in Kaduna.

According to YELF, in more than 10 years of service in the engineering and product development world of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Bashir has earned multiple titles of Innovator, Trainer and Partnership Developer of international repute.
It said: “Engr. Yusuf has succeeded in producing and bringing both knowledge and insight for incubation and acceleration of automation network through software and hardware development.
“As the Co-Founder of KADICT Hub, Engr. Yusuf works as a trainer and hirer of software developers. His dedication, professionalism, boundless energy, and enthusiasm make him an asset to Nigeria and the world, at large.”
YELF, a non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation concerned with literary creativity and women literacy, trains adult women who can neither read nor write, for a year.
After they become literate, they are sent to KADICT HUB to study digital literacy for three months.
Speaking on KADICT Hub’s partnership with YELF, the elated Engr. Bashir, who expressed gratitude to YASMIN Foundation for honouring him, said: “We are now working on a program that will see the women getting additional training, which they can use to get online jobs.”
