Google has rolled out an update to its Chrome browser that expands its autofill feature to include passport details, driver’s license numbers, and vehicle registration information.

The new feature, available globally starting Monday, extends Chrome’s existing ability to automatically fill in addresses, passwords, and payment information. Google said the update will make it easier for users to complete online forms while maintaining data security through encryption.

Before Chrome fills in saved details, users will be prompted to confirm their permission. The company also said Chrome now better recognizes complex forms and formatting differences, improving accuracy across websites.

Google added that more data types will be supported in future updates. The move follows a series of AI-focused improvements to Chrome, including the rollout of Gemini for desktop users and tools for managing browser notifications and account switching.
