Google has announced the global rollout of its AI-powered conversational search feature, Search Live, extending access to users in more than 200 countries and territories.
Search Live, first introduced in July 2025, allows users to interact with search in real time using voice and camera input. The feature enables users to point their device at objects and receive contextual, conversational responses based on what the camera captures.
The global expansion is powered by Google’s latest model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, which the company says delivers more natural and intuitive interactions.
To use the feature, users can open the Google app on Android or iOS, tap the Live icon beneath the search bar, and ask questions verbally. The system provides audio responses and allows follow-up questions for deeper interaction. Users can also explore related web links for additional information.
Google said the feature is particularly useful in situations where typing is inconvenient, such as when seeking guidance on physical tasks or identifying objects in real time. It can also be accessed through Google Lens by selecting the Live option.
In a related update, Google announced that its “Live Translate” feature is expanding to iOS devices and additional countries, including Nigeria. The feature allows users to receive real-time translations through headphones across more than 70 languages.
The expansion marks a significant step in Google’s efforts to integrate AI-driven, multimodal capabilities into everyday search experiences.
