Google Meet suffered a major outage on Monday, leaving more than 15,000 users worldwide unable to join video sessions or experiencing sluggish performance, according to outage tracker Downdetector.
The disruption, which peaked around 1:36 p.m. ET, affected customers across multiple regions. “Some users are experiencing slow interface loads and difficulty joining meetings,” Google confirmed in a status update, adding that engineers were working to restore normal service.
The company did not specify the cause of the outage, but services were gradually being restored as of late afternoon.
