Iguda: Meet 17-Year-Old Kano Artificial Intelligence Prodigy

TECHDIGEST – Abdulmuiz Sunusi Iguda, is a 17-year old young African from Northern part of Nigeria in Kano State who graduated from Day Science Secondary School, Kano.

He designed three prominent Apps that can serve many purposes ranging from coding learning, advertising of commodities and image, video sharing platform capable of competing with the likes of YouTube, Instagram e.t.c.

In an interview with BBC Hausa which was closely monitored by TechDigest, it was learnt that Mr. Iguda developed interest in ICT, particularly coding.

In his words; “My journey in Artificial Intelligence and related areas of technology began when I learned about coding in YOUTUBE, Google, and also my participation in coders’ group chats via social media sites.”

Mr Iguda eventually came up with three apps that were later uploaded in the play store. They are;

Learn KIVY – A software that teaches interested persons especially young chaps how to start exploring the world of coding through understanding of the programming language. Click https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duwali

ADVERTISEIT – This is an online marketing app that allows people to sell and buy products from the comfort zone of their homes. As it was gathered, Mr Iguda is currently working on a more complex app named VIPShow (Very Important Persons’ Show). VIPShow is a social networking app that allows users to chat, comment, like, follow and share images and videos with friends and the intended audiences.

According to him; “VIPShow has the capacity of accommodating over 200,000 concurrent connections.

“With good collaboration, I hope that VIPShow could compete with the world leading social media platforms God willing”.

Mr Iguda also expressed his future ambition and aspiration of developing home automation software and customized robotics for factories, industries.

He intends to work with world leading ICT companies so as to help him build the digital economy of the country. In addition, he hopes to secure admission into the best universities that excel in AI, Machine Learning and robotics.

He also seek financial support from Federal Government, relevant agencies like NITDA and NGOs to establish an ICT hub that specializes in Coding, AI and robotics

“I will be glad if relevant authorities in Nigeria, NGOs, OPS and individuals would support my humble project to fruition.

“I will be useful in developing national initiatives towards making African youths coding friendly (Coding for Kids, Coding Simplified, Coding YouTube Classes) and as well work with the industry and experts for my personal development”. Mr Iguda added.
