Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has revealed that her use of ChatGPT for legal study has backfired, saying the AI chatbot repeatedly gave her false information, causing her to fail tests.
Speaking in an interview with Vanity Fair, Kardashian, who is studying to become a lawyer, described her relationship with the chatbot as “toxic.”
“I use [ChatGPT] for legal advice,” she said. “They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests… and then I’ll yell at it, like, ‘You made me fail!’”
Kardashian said she sometimes tries to “appeal to ChatGPT’s emotions” after being misled, despite acknowledging that it cannot feel. The star’s comments highlight growing concerns over AI hallucinations, where large language models confidently generate false or fabricated answers.
Legal professionals have also faced sanctions for using ChatGPT-generated content, after courts discovered briefs citing non-existent cases.
“I’ll tell it, ‘You’re going to make me fail—how does that make you feel?’” Kardashian joked, adding that she often screenshots the exchanges to share with friends.
