LinkedIn has introduced an AI-powered people search tool for premium subscribers in the United States, allowing users to find individuals using natural language prompts instead of keywords or filters.
Users can now type queries like “find me health-care investors with FDA experience” or “co-founders of a productivity startup in New York,” replacing the traditional filter-heavy search model. LinkedIn says early tests show people are using the tool to identify potential mentors, job contacts, and business leads.
The update comes as major internet platforms race to embed AI into search, following rising reliance on tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity for query-based tasks.
LinkedIn says it is still improving query understanding, as certain prompts return inconsistent results. The feature will roll out to more regions in the coming months.
