An ongoing outage at Microsoft on Friday disrupted access to email, files, meetings and other cloud services for enterprise customers.
The company said in a post on X at about 2:30 p.m. ET that the disruption was linked to a portion of its service infrastructure in North America that was “not processing traffic as expected.” Microsoft did not disclose the specific cause of the issue but said it was working to restore the affected infrastructure to return services to normal.
According to Microsoft’s service status page, the outage is affecting Exchange Online, as well as file search and access across SharePoint Online and OneDrive. Users are also experiencing issues creating chats and meetings, or adding participants, on Microsoft Teams.
In addition, administrators are unable to access Microsoft Purview and Defender XDR security dashboards, as well as several admin centers.
Microsoft has not yet provided an estimated time for full service restoration.
