MTNNG: iPhone Users Can Now Access 5G
TECHDIGEST: MTN asserts that thorough testing of 5G with Apple enables them to provide their subscribers the advantages of 5G via the new iPhone.
The CEO of MTN, Karl Olutokun Toriola, said on LinkedIn on Monday that mobile subscribers who own an iPhone 12 or later versions can begin using the MTN 5G.
“You can now experience the power of 5G on your iPhone Enjoy faster browsing speeds and downloads when you upgrade to iOS 16.2. Available on iPhone 12 and above.”

No other telecom company in Nigeria has yet to roll out the 5G network. Simply explained, this means that the only network with permission to offer 5G on handsets like the Apple iPhones 12, 13, and SE 3rd Generation is MTN.
Recall that after establishing its commercial 5G network in Lagos in September 2022, MTN pledged to expand it to six other locations. Among the cities are Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kano, Owerri, and Maiduguri.
The 5G network is a brand-new international wireless standard that follows the 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. 5G provides a new type of network, objects, and devices in order to connect almost everyone and everything together, including machines, things, and people.
