OpenAI said it has raised $110 billion in a new private funding round, marking one of the largest capital raises in history.
The round includes a $50 billion investment from Amazon and $30 billion each from Nvidia and SoftBank, valuing the company at a pre-money valuation of $730 billion. OpenAI said the round remains open and expects additional investors to join.
The company said the funding will support infrastructure expansion as demand for advanced AI systems grows.
As part of the investment, OpenAI will deepen infrastructure partnerships with Amazon and Nvidia. The company plans to expand its existing collaboration with Amazon Web Services, including developing a new stateful runtime environment on Amazon’s Bedrock platform.
OpenAI also committed to consuming at least 2 gigawatts of AWS Trainium compute capacity. Some portions of the investment may be delivered in services rather than direct cash, though details were not disclosed.
The announcement follows OpenAI’s March 2025 funding round, which raised $40 billion at a $300 billion valuation.
Nvidia’s participation had been widely speculated following earlier reports of a potential $100 billion commitment. The chipmaker has now confirmed its involvement as part of the broader funding package.
