OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Pulse, a new proactive AI assistant designed to deliver daily personalized updates in the form of visual cards. Available in preview for Pro users on mobile, Pulse shifts ChatGPT from a reactive chatbot into an anticipatory research companion.

Each night, the tool analyzes user interactions and generates a tailored feed for the following day, covering areas like travel suggestions, work reminders, health tips, or local events. Users can also customize their updates.

Optional integrations with Gmail and Google Calendar allow Pulse to draft meeting agendas, highlight key emails, and recommend activities linked to calendar entries. All outputs are screened for safety before being displayed.

The feature is currently limited to Pro subscribers but will expand to Plus and eventually all users. According to OpenAI, Pulse is meant to “help people stay productive without encouraging endless scrolling.”

A recent OpenAI study with Harvard revealed that 70% of ChatGPT’s consumer queries are for personal rather than professional use — a trend Pulse is designed to tap into.
