President Buhari to open Digital Nigeria Conference and Expo
TECH DIGEST- President Muhammadu Buhari will inaugurate Digital Nigeria on Tuesday, October 25th, with the assistance of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami. The National Information Technology Development Agency organises the three-day high-profile event, which attracts speakers and exhibitors from within and outside the country (NITDA).
Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General of NITDA, is the Chief Host. Digital Nigeria is the sector’s primary awareness effort in the digital economy. Previously, it was named as eNigeria International Conference and Exhibitions. The three-day event includes a conference with multiple plenary sessions, workshops, including one on Blockchain in Nigeria, and an expo for exhibitors.
The event begins at 10 a.m. in Abuja’s International Conference Centre (ICC). The annual event was renamed Digital Nigeria to better align with the fundamental objectives of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS).

The three-day conference will concentrate on Digital Transformation, Digital Inclusion, Emerging Technology, Data Protection, and National Security. It will investigate how policies, human capital, infrastructure, and new technology might influence national growth in order to build a Digital Nigeria.

The event will provide a chance for professionals and stakeholders to collaborate on current topics of global importance in order to address Nigeria’s challenges for long-term socioeconomic development. Among other activities like as the digital Nigeria day and masterclasses, the 2022 edition will include a one-day summit on blockchain technology. The following sub-themes will be discussed: digital transformation, data protection, national security, emerging technologies, digital inclusion, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The conference will also serve as a platform for networking, cocreation and collaboration, sharing experiences, mentorship, and knowledge dissemination, as well as to stimulate discussion about emerging technology and incentives and export for tech startups.
The event includes physical exhibition space for ICT service providers to display their products and services. In addition, sponsors and other partners in the oil and gas, energy, and banking sectors will be encouraged to exhibit their products and services. About 25-30 exhibitors are expected to participate in the conference.
