My Reasons For Supporting Nigeria Startup Bill – Chima Obieze
TECHDIGEST – Chima Obieze, the member representing Ezeagu State constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, has affirmed that the Nigeria Startup Bill, if passed into law, would be one of the best things to ever happen to the Nigeria tech system.
According to him, there’s no better time than now to pass the Startup Bill, especially when our youths are expected to harness their tech skills and talents in the 21st century tech world.

The startup bill, according to him, will ensure the creation of an enabling environment for growth, attraction and protection of investment in tech startups, while improving the business environment for Startups in Nigeria.

“With this law,” he affirmed, “a tech-inclined Nigeria is possible. The two term house of Assembly member whom is popularly known for his fight and believe for Nigerian Youths urged the national Assembly to think Nigerian Youth first while accessing the bill. Obieze also pointed out that the 21st century global economy is Tech led economy with different innovations and ideas taking over the old way of life and producing multi-millionaires daily.
The startup bill will also go a long way in curbing cybercrime and cyber fraud. The lawmaker who is a trained lawyer and a leadership graduate of Cambridge University United Kingdom also stressed the need for the bill to protect online businesses and setting up Tech hub and Tech village round the country as well as training centers round the country, equipping our schools with modern tech facility to meet global standard.
He also eulogize Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor of Enugu State for investing so much on the Tech industry of Enugu state.
He mentioned a lot of startup events and programs organized by the state and reiterated that Enugu state is already ahead in Tech industry as the state won a well deserving award at Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecom awards 2021.
Obieze further congratulated the SA to Enugu state governor on Tech and Innovation Engineer Elvis Obi-Nwankwo for emerging Young ICT leader of the year at the award ceremony.
He urged that the tempo should be sustained to make sure Enugu state keep being ahead of other.
