Security Bug: Urgent Warning for iPhone and iPad Users to Update Devices
TECHDIGEST – iPhone and iPad users are being warned to update their devices to the latest iOS 15.3.1 as it contains a vital security update that could save them from hackers.
If you’ve got an iOS device, you could be at major risk of hackers if you don’t update to the latest version of the iPhone and iPad software.
That’s according to Apple, which has released an important new security update for its devices. It fixes a problem with browsers on the devices which left them open to unwanted tracking from malicious websites.
It means your precise identity, your different email accounts, and even your email history could be up for grabs for hackers.
What’s worse, some of the top 1000 most visited websites are affected by the flaw, and even using Safari’s ‘private mode’ won’t keep you safe from the issue.

Cybersecurity experts FingerprintJS explain that the bug lets random websites learn what else you’re looking at by being able to access information about the database generated by each site.
For example, if you had Gmail open in one tab and accidentally opened a scam site on another, the scam site would be able to view and access details from your Gmail.
It said: “Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.”
iOS 15.3.1 comes with a ton of exciting new features. You can now screen share during FaceTime calls, which lets you watch videos and films together with your loved ones.
You can also turn off individual notifications and instead get a daily ‘notification summary’ which bundles together all of your most important notifications in one place. This is great if you’re concerned about the amount of screen time you’re getting every day.
