Nigeria Startup Act secretariat trains Osun ICT stakeholders
TECHDIGEST – The national secretariat of the Nigeria Startup Act has organised a workshop tagged ‘Ecosystem engagement’ for stakeholders in the Information Communication Technology field in Osun State, following moves by the state government to domesticate the Startup Act.
Addressing participants at the workshop held in Osogbo, Osun State capital, the State Adoption Lead of the Nigeria Startup Act, National Secretariat, Mrs Tracy Okoro-Isaac, explained that the ecosystem engagement was an activity of the Nigeria Startup Act at the presidency level meant to help states adopt the Act.

According to her, different stakeholders in the ICT sector were involved in creating the laws that were meant to provide an enabling environment for young people and tech enabling companies to thrive.
She added that during the workshop participants were trained on how to access funding and support embedded in the Startup Act.
In his remarks, the Coordinating Director of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, Office of the Governor, Mr Kehinde Jimoh, said when the Startup Act becomes operational in the state, it would address the challenge of unemployment among the youth.
He also noted that input from experts was sought at every stage that the Act had gone through to ensure that it met the aim of the state government to empower the youth.
