The Sui Foundation officially unveiled SuiHub Lagos, its latest global developer hub designed to bolster blockchain innovation in West Africa.

Opening its doors in Nigeria’s tech hub, the fourth SuiHub behind locations in Dubai, Vietnam, and Athens, the space promises workshops, mentorship, educational sessions, and “demo days.” It aims to connect local developers with international mentors and push the adoption of Sui’s object-based blockchain architecture and Move programming language.

Christian Thompson, Managing Director of Sui Foundation, said Lagos was a strategic choice due to its vibrant tech community. He said SuiHub Lagos would serve as a global launchpad for Web3 solutions created by African developers

This launch dovetails with Nigeria’s evolving crypto landscape—fuelled by the 2023 lifting of a crypto ban and the introduction of the SEC’s CryptoSmart initiative from 2022, reinforcing Lagos’s reputation as a regional blockchain pioneer.
