Google has expanded the availability of its Bard chatbot, now powered by the Gemini Pro model, to Nigeria as part of its global expansion starting February 1, 2024.

The updated Bard supports over 40 languages and incorporates improvements in understanding, summarizing content, reasoning, brainstorming, writing, and planning, according to Google.

Additionally, Bard users can now generate images using the Imagen 2 model, and to address potential misuse, Google has implemented measures like SynthID watermarks and filters to ensure responsible usage.

This move positions Google in competition with rivals like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
