In a proactive move to enhance the delivery of Information Technology (IT) services to Federal Government entities, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is currently conducting a comprehensive review of the Guidelines for Registration of ICT Service Providers/Contractors.

Initially issued in 2018, these guidelines have been instrumental in setting standards for indigenous IT service providers engaged in federal projects.

The aim of this review is to streamline the registration process, ensuring a more efficient and robust mechanism for engaging competent vendors in IT service delivery.

NITDA recognizes the pivotal role these guidelines play in upholding professionalism, guaranteeing high-quality IT projects, and nurturing the growth of local IT companies, aligning with Presidential Executive Orders.

Identifying the need for improvement since the guidelines’ issuance, the Agency seeks to promote indigenous IT service provision in line with the current administration’s emphasis on efficiency and innovation.

The forthcoming amendments aim to create opportunities for Nigerian companies to offer more digital services, fostering the ease of doing business for IT service providers.

NITDA emphasizes its commitment to collaboration with stakeholders and invites the public to contribute their comments and feedback on the proposed amendments. Interested parties can provide input until Sunday, 21st January 2024, through the dedicated link.
