TECHDIGEST – The National Emergency Management Commission (NIMC) has said that the National Identity Number (NIN) verification service is temporarily unavailable due to the maintenance work by one of the commission’s network service providers.

This is coming when the technical hitch in the NIN verification portal has yet to be resolved about eight days after the incident was first reported.

NIMC said that the Verification Service is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance by one of the commission’s network service providers.

The affected NIMC portal enables telecom firms, the Nigerian Immigration Service, banks, and other organizations to verify the National Identity Number of their customers before attending to them, in line with the Federal Government’s directive

NIMC said in a statement that “The commission apologizes for any inconvenience this might cause our esteemed customers, as all hands are on deck to ensure speedy restoration.

“Meanwhile the public can make use of the alternative Tokenisation verification platform.

“For more information on how to use the Tokenisation platform, visit https://wild.nimc.gov.ng,” it said.

Download and print your Pre Enrolment Slip.

Step 2

Submit Your Application

Go to the nearest NIMC Registration Centre with any one of the following Original and Valid supporting documents.

At the Enrolment Center you will be directed to one counter where an Enrolment Officer will verify all the details on your application.

If your application is in order, Enrolment officer will guide you to proceed with the capture of biometrics (ten finger prints and facial image) and you will collect the Transaction ID Slip as evidence of the transaction.

Step 3

Collect your NIN The normal time frame to get your National Identification Number (NIN) Slip is within 2 to 3 working days from the time that you captured your biometric details at the enrolment centers.

The issuance of NIN can take longer time for some cases sake of validation of details for NIMC.

You will need keep the Transaction ID Slip very well to present it at the time of collection of NIN Slip.
