Tech Firm Hosts Digital Africa conference and Exhibition
TECHDIGEST – Digital Africa Global Consult Limited has announced the theme for the 11th edition of the annual Digital Africa Conference & Exhibition, now slated for the 4th quarter of 2023: “Perfecting Cross-Border Payment Systems in Africa.
The announcement was made on Friday June 2023 in Abuja when the Chairman/CEO of the company, Dr. Evans Woherem, hosted Alford Conferences Limited, the longstanding publicity and event marketing partner for its annual tech show.
Dr. Woherem, one of the most respected banking technology experts in Nigeria, and former Executive Director of IT of both First Bank Nigeria Limited and Unity Bank Plc, explained that perfecting cross-border payment systems holds the key to accelerating the integration of the economy of the 54 countries of Africa.

The Digital Africa Boss enjoined the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the apex bank of the other 53 African countries to warmly embrace and deepen their involvement in Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), an initiative launched by African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) in January 2022.
“For a long time, Nigerian and African companies and entreprenuers who desire to sell more and buy more in the African continent have struggled with making and settling cross-border payments.

“Such payments have traditionally taken a long time to complete, are they are expensive because they have to go through correspondent banks outside of the continent. PAPSS has started to successfully address these challenges, hoping to encourage a more extensive level of intra-Africa trade,” he added
