Tech Startup to Reduce Environmental Pollution with Smart Waste Bins

TECHDIGEST – New tech startup, Fascinate Technologies has concluded plans for introduction of smart waste bins to solve environmental pollution problems and prevent the spread of diseases in communities.

In an exclusive interview with TechDigest, the Chief Executive Officer of Fascinate Technologies, Peter Okoye, said that the startup is motivated by the desire to create innovation solutions to improve the process of waste management within private and public spaces across Nigeria.
He explained that the waste management solution comes with several benefits, saying that, `It will ensure effective waste collection, minimize improper waste disposal thereby helping to prevent environmental pollution and spread of diseases, as well as promote a greener and eco-friendly environment”.

“Fascinate Technologies is a problem solving startup with smart innovative solutions for homes, schools, commercial hubs and our environment. With our latest innovation of smart waste bins we are geared towards automating waste management in Nigeria”.

Okoye told TechDigest that the test-running of the project is going on smoothly at the Anambra State Technology Incubation Center (TIC) Nnewi and Archbishop Heerey Technical College Ogidi.

According to him, “Our innovative solutions in waste management is already gaining acceptance as some corporate bodies and institutions have already indicated interest for patronage.

The CEO of Fascinate Technologies, who described his participation at the GITEX Future Stars show in Dubai, UAE, as “mind-blowing experience’’, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and NITDA for giving the startup the opportunity to attend the global tech event.

“We are grateful to NITDA and Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. It was a mind blowing experience for our startup. We had the opportunity to interact with other startup founders and network with strategic investors. And got mentored on how to improve our product and upscale our business globally”.

Okoye, who disclosed that his startup has started grooming some selected secondary school students on computer coding, appealed to federal government and other stakeholders to support startups through funding, mentoring, visibility and policies that will promote their innovation to boost digital economy development.
