Former U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Microsoft to dismiss Lisa Monaco, the company’s president of global affairs, citing her previous roles in Democratic administrations.
In a post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump described Monaco’s access to sensitive information as “unacceptable” given her service as a senior national security aide under Barack Obama and as deputy attorney general under President Joe Biden.
Trump revoked Monaco’s security clearance earlier this year, along with those of Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and other Democratic leaders.
Microsoft declined to comment on Trump’s remarks. Monaco, who joined the company in May, oversees cybersecurity policy and government relations.
Far-right activist Laura Loomer has also criticized Monaco’s appointment and urged Trump to cancel Microsoft’s government contracts. Trump has recently targeted other tech executives, including Intel president Lip-Bu Tan.
