WhatsApp Testing AirDrop-Like Feature for iPhone Users

TECH DIGEST- WhatsApp is developing a new feature that mirrors Apple’s AirDrop, allowing users to share files without an internet connection. The feature, dubbed “Nearby Share,” is currently being tested for iOS devices and enables the wireless transfer of photos, videos, and documents with end-to-end encryption.
Unlike Android’s automatic device detection, iOS users must scan a QR code to initiate file sharing. This feature will facilitate cross-platform file transfers between iOS and Android devices.
WhatsApp has yet to announce a release date for Nearby Share.
