Hundreds of users experienced difficulties accessing X on Tuesday, according to outage tracking platform Downdetector, with the Elon Musk-owned social media platform suffering two separate disruptions within a 24-hour period.
The latest outage began around 4:04 p.m., with reports peaking at approximately 1,092 users by 4:16 p.m. Earlier in the day, the platform also experienced a disruption lasting about an hour between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., during which more than 1,100 users reported problems.
Data from Downdetector showed that 46 per cent of affected users experienced issues with the X mobile application, while 32 per cent reported problems loading their feeds or timelines. Another 12 per cent said they were unable to access the platform through web browsers.
X had not issued an official statement on the incidents as of press time.
The platform appeared to return to normal operation within 30 to 40 minutes of the latest disruption. Similar outages are typically resolved within a few hours, depending on the nature of the underlying technical issue.
The incident follows another service disruption in March that affected users across multiple regions. During that outage, some users were unable to open the application, while others reported being automatically logged out and unable to sign back in. Both mobile and web users were affected before service was restored within about an hour.
