Alphabet-owned YouTube said on Wednesday that it has resolved a global streaming issue that disrupted its main platform, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV for several thousand users.
“YouTube should now be working as expected,” the company said in a post on X, without specifying the cause of the disruption.
According to outage tracker Downdetector, reports of problems spiked at 7:55 p.m. ET, with 366,172 users in the United States affected at the peak of the outage. Users in the UK, Canada, and Australia also reported widespread disruptions.
Downdetector compiles outage data from user submissions, meaning the actual number of affected users may differ from reported figures.
The outage marks one of the largest reported service interruptions for YouTube in recent months, though the company restored functionality within hours.
