Elon Musk Unveils Tesla Cybertruck
Elon Musk’s grand unveiling of the Cybertruck in Dubai has set the stage for a new era in electric vehicle technology, combining cutting-edge features with a captivating aesthetic.
The live-streamed Cybertruck delivery event, lasting around 30 minutes, showcased the traditional Tesla flair with its energetic music, VIP guests, and, of course, Elon Musk himself. The much-anticipated Tesla Cybertruck deliveries mark a culmination of at least six years since Musk’s initial tweet about building the revolutionary truck and four years since its futuristic debut.
Beyond the flashy features, including bulletproof capabilities, here’s what we know about the Cybertruck so far. The vehicle will be available in three configurations, with the most affordable rear-wheel version priced at $60,990 but not set to hit the market until 2025. The all-wheel drive variant, boasting a 341-mile range and starting at $79,990, and the powerful Cyberbeast, with an estimated 320-mile range and a $99,990 price tag, were also unveiled. Both versions claim an impressive towing capacity of 11,000 pounds.

Tesla plans to offer a range extender for the all-wheel drive version and Cyberbeast, increasing their estimated ranges to 470 miles and over 440 miles, respectively. Musk explained via X (formerly Twitter) that the range extender would be an “optional pack” fitting into a third of the truck bed, designed for long trips or towing heavy loads, yet no details about pricing have been disclosed. It’s worth noting that any Cybertruck or SUV priced above $80,000 won’t qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit. This stipulation raises questions about the eligibility of the middle-tier variant with a range extender.
The current specs differ from Musk’s 2019 projections, with changes in pricing, towing capacity, and range. Despite these shifts, the Cybertruck boasts impressive features such as a drag coefficient of 0.335, 35-inch all-terrain tires, a composite truck bed, and a maximum payload of 2,500 pounds. The Cybertruck’s exterior includes armoured glass resistant to impacts and a switch to a 48-volt electrical system for enhanced power distribution. Inside the Cybertruck, a futuristic experience awaits with an 18.5-inch infinity touchscreen in the front, a 9.4-inch touchscreen in the back, a 15-speaker sound system, a built-in HEPA air filter, wireless charging, and versatile power outlets.
