American consumers spent $11.8 billion online this Black Friday, setting a new record for digital sales, according to data from Adobe Analytics, which tracks more than one trillion visits to U.S. retail websites. The figure represents an increase from $10.8 billion recorded during Black Friday last year. Adobe estimates that between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., shoppers were spending an average of $12.5 million every minute.

In a statement cited by Forbes, Adobe said the numbers show that Black Friday has become “a major e-commerce moment, as more shoppers opt to stay home and take advantage of deals.” The company projects an even larger spending surge on Cyber Monday, forecasting online sales of $14.2 billion, according to Reuters.

Black Friday performance from analytics firms such as Adobe and Salesforce often serves as an early indicator of broader holiday shopping behavior. Adobe expects overall U.S. holiday spending to reach $253.4 billion this year, up from $241.1 billion in 2024.

Salesforce reported $79 billion in global Black Friday spending, including $18 billion from the United States — year-over-year increases of 6% and 3%, respectively. However, Salesforce noted that rising prices may be driving revenue growth more than demand, with average prices up 7%, while overall order volume declined 1%.

Both Adobe and Salesforce also point to a rising role of artificial intelligence in holiday shopping. Salesforce estimates that AI-driven tools and recommendation agents influenced $22 billion in global sales between Thanksgiving and Black Friday, although the scope of this definition remains unclear.

Data on physical retail activity remains mixed. RetailNext, quoted by Forbes, reported a 3.4% decline in in-store traffic nationwide, while Pass_by recorded a 1.17% increase overall, with department stores seeing a more significant 7.9% rise in foot traffic.

Adobe and YouTube have announced a new partnership to integrate a content creation space called Create for YouTube Shorts within Adobe Premiere Mobile. The collaboration aims to make it easier for creators to produce, edit, and publish short-form videos directly from mobile devices.

The new feature will allow millions of creators to access professional editing tools, transitions, and effects used in Adobe Premiere without leaving YouTube’s ecosystem. Users can select the “Edit in Adobe Premiere” option directly within the Shorts interface to access the feature.

Creators will be able to customize templates, share presets, and create reusable formats for faster storytelling. Adobe said the integration is designed to inspire creativity while helping users stay on top of video trends.

“Our goal at YouTube is to meet creators where they are and give everyone the tools they need to make storytelling easier and connect with their audiences,” said Scott Silver, YouTube’s Vice President of Engineering. “This partnership with Adobe will give creators more choice and access to advanced editing tools, unlocking new ways for them to connect with viewers and reach global audiences.”

Adobe is also integrating its Firefly AI tools, enabling users to generate images, audio, and video from text prompts. The app will offer access to Adobe Stock’s library of music, photos, and graphics, alongside fonts and presets from Lightroom.

The iOS version will be free to use, but advanced AI features and cloud storage will require additional credits or subscriptions.

An Android version is in development, though Adobe did not provide a release date.

The launch positions Adobe against competitors such as Meta’s Edits app and Captions, as it targets creators producing short-form content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

Adobe has been expanding its mobile suite, having launched Photoshop for iOS in February 2025 and beta-tested it on Android in June.

Meta, Adobe launch Free Training Program For Small Businesses

TECHDIGEST – Facebook-parent Meta has partnered with Adobe to launch a free training program ‘Express Your Brand’,a free online training program to help small business owners grow their online presence effectively.

The program, according to a statement will be featured as monthly virtual training sessions to give small business owners tips for maximizing their impact on social media platforms, enhace their digital marketing strategies and to promote their businesses.

The session, as part of Adobe’s promotion for its new Adobe Express production suite will include hands-on learning with Adobe Express as year-long initiative to combine skill training with inspiration and community building.

According to Meta, “It’s no surprise that social media is an essential marketing tool for small businesses today. According to a recent Adobe survey, we found 59% of small business owners say improving their social media skills would be the most impactful thing they can do for their business. But with limited time, resources and technology, it can be a daunting task for entrepreneurs.”

In response to this demand, the new “Express Your Brand” training program includes a variety of components meant to “demystify social media marketing,” as well as Adobe Express training to assist participants to develop their own creative assets. Each session will provide hands-on instruction with Adobe Express, allowing participants to rapidly build a library of creative assets for their brand. Afterwards, Meta’s internal experts will offer guidance on how to use your new creative elements throughout its apps, with a variety of professionals contributing to the course curriculum.

“Meta Elevate is community and learning platform that offers black, Latinx and Hispanic business owners with resources to help them succeed. Launched in 2018, this community for entrepreneurs of color provides access to virtual coaching, one-on-one mentorship and a variety”, says Meta.

The training program might be a useful project with many possibilities, and if you’re eager to develop your digital marketing skills, you may want to check out the new course and Adobe’s latest creative tools, which have been developed with simplicity in mind.

The ‘Express Your Brand’ program will debut on May 17 and will have monthly training sessions on each component. Visit the Adobe Express web page to learn more about the program and also enrol.
