Instagram has rolled out its long-awaited grid reordering feature, allowing users to rearrange posts on their profile pages regardless of when the content was originally published.

The new feature gives users greater control over how their profiles are presented, enabling creators, businesses and individuals to organize posts according to themes, aesthetics or personal preferences rather than chronological order.

The update comes nearly a year after Instagram chief Adam Mosseri confirmed the company was developing the feature. Evidence of the functionality first emerged in 2022 when app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi discovered references to an “Edit Grid” option in Instagram’s code.

Users can access the feature through a new “Reorder Grid” option, which appears alongside existing tools such as “Pin to Main Grid” and “Archive.” The feature opens a dedicated interface where posts can be dragged and repositioned.

Instagram said the feature was developed in response to years of user requests. Pinned posts, however, will remain fixed at the top of profiles and cannot be moved while pinned.
