NCC Launches Young Innovative Builders Program For Nigerian Students

This initiative targets students in tertiary institutions who, during their industrial training, have created groundbreaking solutions to real-world problems. The program, open to students nationwide who have completed industrial training, aims to acknowledge the crucial role of practical experience in applying theoretical knowledge. The NCC emphasized the significance of industrial training programs in fostering a practical understanding of knowledge.

The Young Innovative Builders program aligns with the Ministry’s broader goals to promote the growth of the digital economy by highlighting and recognizing innovations crafted by young Nigerians.

Under this initiative, the top 48 innovative solutions in each state, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will be rewarded with laptops. Additionally, the next best 40 solutions will receive tablets, showcasing the government’s commitment to supporting technological advancements among students.

To be eligible for the program, students must be enrolled in any Nigerian tertiary institution, have designed or built a tech-enabled solution using digital technology, and successfully completed an industrial training program.

Applications for the Young Innovative Builders program are open from November 22, 2023, until December 6, 2023.

The review process will involve a diverse committee comprising representatives from academia, industry experts, the Ministry, and other stakeholders.

Using a standard grading system, the committee will assess the submitted projects, with the winners set to be announced on December 22, 2023, through official channels.
