Online design platform Canva experienced a service disruption on Thursday that prevented some users from uploading images to their designs.

The disruption affected one of Canva’s core features, making it difficult for users to continue editing projects that require media uploads.

The company acknowledged the issue on its official status page, stating that users may encounter errors when uploading media to Canva designs.

“Users may experience errors uploading media to their Canva design,” Canva said in a service update.

The incident was first reported at 19:10 AEST (14:40 IST) on July 2, with the company confirming shortly afterwards that the issue had been identified.

Meanwhile, outage-monitoring platform Downdetector recorded a spike in user reports, indicating that the disruption affected users across multiple regions.

Canva has not disclosed the cause of the disruption or provided an estimated timeline for full service restoration.

As of the latest update, image upload issues were still affecting some users.
